Father John C. Reinkemeyer
Father John C. Reinkemeyer was born June 20, 2921 in Rich Fountain, Mo., and studied for the priesthood at Conception Seminary, Conception, Mo. He was ordained on May 24, 1951, and served as an associate pastor at three St. Patrick Churches - Parsons, Walnut, and Kingman - until 1955 when he was named a temporary associate of St. Mark Parish, St. Mark. He was named pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Kingman, in August of 1955, and served there for three years before being named pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Cunningham. In 1961 he became pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Arma, where he served five years. Father Reinkemeyer was named pastor of Holy Savior, Wichita, in 1966. He served the Wichita parish for 13 years before he was named pastor of St. Rose Parish in Mt. Vernon, and St. Louis Parish in Waterloo. In 1986, after about seven years serving the two parishes, he returned to his first pastorate, St. Patrick in Kingman, where he retired in 1998. He then took up residence at St. Mary, Aleppo. He is buried in Ascension Cemetery in Wichita.
