Father John F. Walsh
Father Walsh was born on November 21, 1900 in County Mayo, Ireland and was ordained in Rome at St. John Lateran on April 3, 1926. In the Diocese of Wichita he was assigned to Winfield Hospital, Winfield; Mercy Hospital, Independence; Galena and Baxter Springs; Caney; Neodesha; Moline; and Franklin. Father Walsh retired in 1964 and died at Cuneo Memorial Hospital in Chicago on April 20, 1976. His funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Priscilla Church in Chicago with his burial at Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, IL.
