Father William Cremin

Father Cremin was born on September 16, 1913 in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland. He was ordained a priest in the Salesian Order on May 23, 1943 in Shillong, India. The first six years of his priesthood Father Cremin worked in India, Bengal and England but, because of poor health, was advised to move to a western climate so he came to the Diocese of Wichita. In the diocese he worked at Holy Savior Parish, Wichita; St. Michael Parish, Mulvane; Sacred Heart Parish, Eureka; St. Mary Parish, Chase; St. James Parish, Augusta; St. Patrick Parish, Walnut; and Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott with St. Patrick Parish, Fulton, as a mission. His last assignment was to St. Anthony Parish, Strong City. Fr. Cremin died on April 21, 1974 in Ft. Scott where Bishop Maloney celebrated his funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Angels Parish. He was buried at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fulton.
