Father Colin Boor
Fr. Colin Joseph Boor, died Thursday, January 16, he was 93 years old and served the Diocese of Wichita for over 60 years. Fr. Boor was born in Odin, Kansas to Nicholas and Olivia Huslig Boor on February 21, 1926. He studied at Meinrad in Indiana and Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis before his ordination on May 31, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas.
After ordination, Fr. Boor served as an assistant at All Saints in Wichita, then as a pastor at St. Joseph, Arma; Sacred Heart, Cunningham; St. Anthony, Wellington; then in 1964 began Diocesan Mission work in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Following six years of mission he returned back to the Diocese of Wichita and served at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Newton; Our Lady of Guadalupe, South Hutchinson and St. Agnes in Castleton.
Fr. Boor retired in 1999 after serving many parishes and on many committees for the diocese and continued to substitute for fellow priests until 2010.
