Msgr. Patrick Larkin

Msgr. Larkin was born on March 9, 1892 in Knockanure, Country Kerry, Ireland and was ordained for the Diocese of Wichita on June 4, 1916 at St. Patrick College, Carlow, Ireland. After serving as an assistant at St. Mary’s Cathedral for three years he went to Sacred Heart Parish in Fredonia where he remained until 1937. His next assignment was to St. Francis Parish in Cherryvale for ten years and then he went to Holy Name Parish in Coffeyville until his retirement in 1954. In 1948 he was appointed Diocesan Director of the League of the Apostleship of Prayer and in 1949 he was named a monsignor. Following his retirement he returned to Ireland where he lived until his death on March 24, 1980. Msgr. Larkin was buried from St. Mary Church, Ballybunion, Ireland.
