Father David Lynch

Father Lynch was born on September 10, 1897 in Chicago where he attended St. Bridget’s Parochial School, St. Rita’s High School, and De Paul University. He did his seminary training at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, MO and St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, CO. On April 2, 1927 he was ordained for the Diocese of Boise, ID. After eleven years he transferred to the Diocese of Wichita and served in the following locations: St. Joseph Parish, Ellinwood; Halstead Hospital; Sacred Heart Parish, Eureka; Holy Redeemer Parish, Tampa; Immaculate Conception Parish, Burns; Sacred Heart Parish, Halstead; and St. Ignatius Parish, Neodesha. He died from cancer at Mercy Hospital in Fredonia on October 30, 1957 at 60 years of age and 30 years as a priest. Bishop Carroll celebrated a Pontifical Mass of Requiem for Father Lynch at St. Ignatius Parish on November 2, 1957. Burial was in the Catholic section of the Neodesha Cemetery.
